Dr. Power Asks some important questions of interest to Portland residents - Chiropractor Portland Dr. Power Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.

Your First Visit to Our Portland Practice

Beginning Chiropractic Care in Portland

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

When you enter Lifeworks Chiropractic Center, you will be welcomed by our warm and helpful staff, given a tour and be asked to complete some brief paperwork.

You will then have plenty of time to meet with the doctors to discuss your concerns, learn about care at our office and have all your questions answered.

Thorough Chiropractic Exams

Once you feel comfortable, the doctor will perform a complete spinal exam (patients remain fully clothed) and explain any important findings. You will also experience your first GENTLE chiropractic adjustment and receive personalized recommendations for your care.

Generally, there is no need for x-rays or further lab tests. Your initial visit will take approximately 1-hour. Please wear soft, loose, comfortable clothing.

Occasionally, the doctor will need to have a follow-up visit to adjust you a second time before making any recommendations for your care. In that case your second visit will simply consist of a second relaxing adjustment, followed by chiropractic recommendations for care.
